President's Week!

Hello,
This is Andrew again. I am sorry that i have not been on blogger for a while. It has almost been a month! I was sick for two weeks and then I had to do a lot of make up work and then I just never got to it! I am sorry. Through this entire month of February, I have been actually doing a lot! My mom and I went to Mount Vernon, George Washington's home. Before we were there, we stopped at my favorite go-carting place, AIK, which stands for America Indoor Karting. We stayed the night at our friend's condo in Richmond and walked all around "Church Hill" area of Richmond and ate in a wonderful deli by her home.

This is a picture of AIK. I am in the second car in the brown jacket - it was negative degrees in this room. Riding - my hands were numb. These are gas-powered go-carts that go about 25 mph on an indoor track. I came in 2nd place!

More pictures of me at AIK. Since these go-carts go so fast, you have to wear a full helmet and neck brace for safety. I even had to take a test.

In Richmond, there is an international speed raceway which is right next to AIK. This stadium is HUGE!

The entire point we came, was to go to Mt. Vernon, George Washington's home in Virginia. These pictures are of the reenactment band and military performance on the lawn in front of his house for President's Day. It was snowing when we got there - and we FROZE watching this.

Then they performed a musical act.

This is my mom's favorite picture of George Washington praying to God for Divine wisdom during the Revolutionary War. She made me take this picture of her.

This is an old re-enactor lady who talked as if she was George Washington's wife - and acted as if she knew everything about him!

This is George Washington's lawn at the Potomac River behind his house.

This is a picture of my mom and I standing at the back of George Washington's home looking at the Potomac River.

I hope you enjoy going to Mount Vernon with us. You should visit - it was really cool - but not when it is snowing! It took us about the whole 4 hours home to thaw out!
